Matching Programs

Many companies offer to match (fully or a percentage) their employees’ donations to charitable organizations. These matching funds multiply the impact of the original donation to further the goals of the ABS. Employees must follow the employer’s application process for the matching gift program for processing and approval.

SENIORS – IRA Distribution

If you are age 70½ or older, you can donate up to $100,000 to ABS as a qualifying 501(c)(3) charitable organization directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). The distribution will not be treated as taxable income, provided the distribution is made directly. To qualify, contributions must come from a traditional IRA or Roth IRA, and just be made directly to a public charity. Additionally, the donor may not receive goods or services in exchange for the donation, and they must retain a receipt from each charity to which a donation is made.

Facebook

If you use the social media platform Facebook, another way you can donate and raise money for ABS is to create a Birthday Fundraiser. The money will go directly to supporting ABS, and there aren’t any fees for nonprofits. Click here to learn how to create a Birthday Fundraiser.

Legacy Planning

Leave a bequest in your name that will help carry forward the vital work on ABS in the future. Arrange a bequest in your will or trust, or make ABS the beneficiary of an insurance policy, bank account, or your IRA.
