The Begonian is a bi-monthly journal for all those with interests in the varied plant family of Begoniacea. The journal is one of those benefits provided by membership in the American Begonia Society.
Beginning growers will find articles on general growing techniques and specifics for plants or plant groups. More advanced growers will keep up with newly discovered begonia species and newly registered hybrids which are announced and described here.
Favorite begonias of member growers are often featured. Color photos of these are ample with a pronunciation guide to all species and a source listing for where begonias featured may be obtained. There are regular columns on conservation and organic growing.
Book reviews and books available from the ABS Bookstore also appear. The business affairs of the American Begonia Society are reported as well as updates on all the services it provides.
Probably the favorite offering is a listing and description in each issue of seed available for purchase by members at low prices from the
Clayton M.Kelley Seed Fund.
